This coming weekend, Sitges is hosting International Museum Day. On Saturday May 18th 2024 the three museums of the town of Sitges will be free of charge. The program prepared by the Sitges Museums presents different activities, aimed at presenting heritage spaces and their collections from different angles.

These museums are; the Maricel Museum, the Cau Ferrat Museum and the Stämpfli-Contemporary Art Foundation. The museums Maricel and Cau Ferrat share hours, which will be from 10:00 in the morning to 19:00 in the afternoon. The Stämplfi Foundation will be open from 10:00 in the morning to 14:00 in the afternoon.

Besides visits to museums, there will also be activities during the day. The Institute of the Arts Barcelona offers an art performance at the Stämpfli Foundation, from 11am to 2pm, at night at the Palau Maricel, building of the Maricel museum, the “Nit al Palau de Maricel” will be held. During Sunday morning there will be guided tours with activities for the little ones. It will be from 11h.  

The museums of Sitges aim to maintain art and culture in a town that has historically been surrounded and inhabited by artists such as Santiago Rusiñol or Ramon Casas. The cultural offerings in Sitges are becoming more and more and are a very important part of this town, learning the art and culture of Sitges can also give us a broader view to understand the charm of this village.
